ARTIST STATEMENT

La dance des Ecorchées is a series of seven paintings. Each painting embodies a unique image but when layered on top of each other, like playing cards, together they form one.

Ecorché literally means pealing off and is often used to describe our emotions. On every painting, more skin is peeled off and more flesh appears. Magenta is the color of the flesh, of my vulnerability, of my emotions.
