My photos are inspired by the smallest of moments. The light hits the wall of the subway at a certain angle for ten minutes, one day of the year, and with chance I catch it. A particular collection of people stands on the train platform: colors, light, and shadow mix to form a complex, dark portrait. A small firework goes off during the Fourth of July adjacent to my face. My gut tells me to press down on my shutter and my finger follows. Each photograph in this series represents a particular moment in my life that is both ethereal and universal. Through the series of photographs, I hope to elicit wonder in the viewer, while allowing each to examine their own ever-changing place in the world.
