Color is the starting point in my paintings.  I’m interested in exploring unique color relationships that are sourced from natural and artificial worlds.  The interaction and conversation between the materials and surfaces happen through the combined effort of structure and chance.

My work is rooted in the language of abstraction and pays homage to the early modernist and color field painters.  Colors and forms are sourced from the observed world but it is their distillation and relationship that interest me.  In this oversaturated and easily discarded image world, my work seeks clarity and invites contemplation.
